The Super League Grand Final is arguably the biggest honour in the UK Rugby League Calendar. The two teams qualify from the end of season play-offs, where they will go head to head in a stunning final played out at Old Trafford. The winner of the Grand Final is then determined the winner of that Super League season.
Who is in the Grand Final?
It has now been confirmed that the Super League Grand Final 2024 will include Wigan Warriors and Hull KR. Hull KR have had an extremely good season, finishing in an impressive second place. Wigan have won the League Leaders' Shield two years in a row and they also won the Grand Final in 2023, putting an end to St Helens four year reign.
When is the Grand Final?
The match will take place at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester on Saturday 12th October 2024.
What will the Line-ups be?
It is too early to say who will be likely to line-up for both Wigan Warriors and Hull KR in the Super League Grand Final 2024. However based on the latest news (as of 6th October) we will predict the 18 man squads below.
Wigan Warriors
The main doubt for the Warriors hangs over captain Liam Farrell. Farrell missed out on the semi-final clash due to a virus that he has been struggling with for a couple of weeks. At this point it is still unclear if he will be fit enough for the Grand Final. With this in mind, we predict Wigan to line-up like this: Jai Field, Abbas Miski, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, Harry Smith, Ethan Harvard, Kruise Leeming, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba, Sam Walters, Kaide Ellis, Liam Byrne, Patrick Mago, Tyler Dupree, Tom Forber, Zach Eckersley.
Hull KR
With no news of additional injuries, we suspect that KR may be without Oliver Gildart. There are still doubts over his ongoing injury, so assuming there is still a question mark over him this is how we expect Hull KR to lineup:
Niall Evalds, Joe Burgess, Peta Hiku, Jack Broadbent, Ryan Hall, Tyrone May, Mikey Lewis, Sauaso Sue, Matt Parcell, Jai Whitbread, Matty Storton, James Batchelor, Dean Hadley, Jez Litten, Sam Luckley, Kelepi Tanginoa, Jack Brown, George King.
Who will win the Super League Grand Final 2024?
Nothing is ever a given, however we can analyse the previous form for both teams. We leave our thoughts below:
Hull KR have won just one match out of their last five games facing Wigan Warriors. Wigan have regularly won by a high margin, and after their recent thrashing of the Leigh Leopards, Salford AND Leeds, there is every chance that they could do it again. Not one team has put a try past Wigan in their last three games, can Hull KR break that solid defence?
Hull KR are also in excellent form, their only defeat in their last five matches has come at the hands of Wigan. Hull KR have also beaten Leeds, Leigh and Salford but by narrower margins.
Taking all of the above into account, it hasn't been that long since the two clubs faced each other (9th September). However, since then Wigan have looked unstoppable.
With this match being such a huge occasion, Wigan live for these games and its rare they won't show up. For Hull KR, it's their first Grand Final. The only other big game experience they have had in recent years has been in the Challenge Cup Final. They were dealt a thrashing by Leeds Rhinos back in 2015 with a 50-0 defeat. Their other appearance was just last year when they lost by just one point in a 17-16 defeat to Leigh Leopards.
With all respect to Leigh, the 2023 Challenge Cup Final was the year of the underdog. Both teams in that final did not have experience in huge matches so the playing field was even. For this year's Grand Final, the KR squad will be feeling an unbelievable amount of nerves. Can they have the mental strength to stop Wigan winning their seventh Super League title?

What are the Super League Betting Odds for the Grand Final?
Currently Wigan Warriors are favourites to win this year’s Super League Grand Final. They stand at 4/9, and Hull KR are priced at 2/1.
Hull KR have reached their first ever Grand Final and will be looking to cause a huge upset after the phenomenal season they have had. They don't have as much 'big game' experience compared to the likes of Wigan. This is likely why they are priced at a huge 2/1.
